Porsche Race to Singapore Update, August 7: CoCo sets sights on top 10

With the first week of the North American summer in the books, which players are pushing towards the elite in the Porsche Race to Singapore? Read on to find out.

While the Top 10 of the Porsche Race to Singapore remains unchanged as the calendar flips to August, the story of the latest edition of the leaderboard is the players on the cusp.

Leading the charge and closing in on the Top 10 is CoCo Vandeweghe, who rises five spots to No.11 in the standings after finishing runner-up at the Bank of the West Classic.

Vandeweghe's conquerer in the final in Stanford, compatriot Madison Keys, makes a splash down the leaderboard, as she rises to No.54 from outside the Top 100. The American only started her season at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after wrist surgery.

The other champion in the first week of the North American hard court swing, Ekaterina Makarova, also makes moves in the race this week. The Citi Open champion rises 19 spots to No.35, while runner-up Julia Goerges moves up eight spots into the top 30 at No.24.

The German has been one of the most consistent performers on tour in recent months, reaching three WTA finals in a six-week span.

Also making a notable move is Bank of the West Classic semifinalist CiCi Bellis; the American teenager's reward for her first Premier-level semifinal is a 16-spot rise in the race to No.33.

Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza and WTA World No.1 Karolina Pliskova swap spots in the top 10, as the Spaniard moves to No.2 on the leaderboard after a semifinal showing in Stanford.
