Advantage Singapore: The Final Serve
As part of the final edition of the WTA Finals in Singapore in 2018, a new fundraising element was initiated and has played an integral role in Advantage Singapore: The Final Serve. In the lead-up to the tournament, members of the public, volunteers and partners were involved in a series of charity activities in support of SportCares to help youth from needy and vulnerable backgrounds live better through sport, contributing to the WTA Finals legacy.
For every General Admission ticket and Racquet Club hospitality pass sold, event organizer and promoter Lagardère Sports contributed S$1 and S$10 respectively to SportsCares. Match Coins used for the pre-match Coin Toss were specially autographed by WTA Founder Billie Jean King, WTA Finals Legend Ambassador Martina Navratilova, and the eight 2018 Singles players, and were on display at the Fan Village for fans to silently auction and win. Hospitality guests could also bid for racquets autographed by Billie Jean King and the five champions, which were on display at the Racquet Club.
